Ah! Monday Morning! If 3 snoozes and 2 cups of coffee didn’t get you started, you can peruse these items of interests until your brain ackowledges that you are up!
- DNA Phil wrote 3 articles on how he prepares for sessions. I already borrowed a few ideas from his game preparation. DNA Phil is like all of us and doesn’t have too much spare time so he has some great tricks to plan his games quickly, and general advice too. I especially enjoyed this nugget: “Unless something cool happens by failing a skill check, just give it to them.”
- Treasure Tables will feature its best 40-ish archived posts during the next few weeks. Considering TT has over 800 articles in its archives this is a great occasion for us all to check out the best and most popular posts on Treasure Tables.
- I tried using a laptop during our latest session and I must say I enjoyed it very much. More on that very soon. In the meanwhile check out Roleplaying Tips’ Tech Tools - Using today’s technology to enhance your games.
- I wrote 2 articles on min-maxing this week-end and they spurred interesting discussions. If you haven’t read them yet do it now (Min-maxing - who cares about the story, 7 anti-min-maxing rules) then read Steve’s guide to making sweet D&D characters. Some of the stuff is very basic but he makes a good point about rolling for attributes in the very first paragraph!
- If you haven’t surfed the D&D blogosphere recently make sure you stop by Stupid Ranger, Musings of the Chatty DM, and Jonathan Drain d20 source. I haven’t had much time for reading recently but I stop by these blogs everyday.
- If you still feel don’t feel like working after checking out all these links you could try to write your name in elvish.
