Best wishes and random thought
Written by Yax - Published on December 22, 2007

Happy holidays to everyone!  Have fun with friends and family and don’t stress over gifts and shopping.

Thanks to all of you who read my ramblings diligently and special thanks go out to everyone who left a comment and discussed D&D on this website.  I have a blast when I read your thoughts and often laugh out loud when I do.

Random thought

Talking about laughing out loud… When will someone start using the expression “lol” in voice conversation.  It has to be coming pretty soon, right?

I have been using it for quite a time now. Seriously. Some of my computer-addicted friends also do.

And Happy Holidays to you as well!

That’s what I thought. It had to be out there already. In 5 years, we won’t even laugh anymore. We’ll just smile and say “roflmao”.

Actually, my homies and I have been verbalizing “LOL” for quite some time. We’ve only recently added “STFU” to the conversations.

Question, do you say Lol, rhymes with roll, or do you day L, O, L?

    I pronounce it like roll.

I also pronounce roflmao, sort of sounds like awful mao, like off mayonaise.

Well, personally I don’t say it - yet? - but I’d pronounce it like you do.

We don’t say “roflmao” or “stfu”. It just sounds silly in my language…

Both “lawl” and “ell oh ell” are regular parts of our conversations, in addition to “oh em gee” and many others. It started out being used ironically and stuck there.

Some of my friend get somehow confused, as they don’t know those expressions…

For me, LOL rhymes with roll, but OMG is “Oh Em Gee”. I think we’ve managed to keep the others away so far…
