D&D Sunday morning quiz: Feats!
Posted by D&D Trivia Crew on April 13, 2008
DNDSMQ 04-13-08
I have no clue how hard this quiz is. We all know a few feats very well but nobody - ok, almost no one - spends time reading the whole list of feats regularly. Maybe you’ll be stumped. Maybe you need to get a life. The quiz will tell you!
All questions and answers from the d20 SRD.
NOTE: Some e-mail clients and RSS readers aren’t able to submit your quiz answers to the website. If you’re reading this from an e-mail subscription or a feed reader you should head to Dungeon Mastering to take the quiz.
This week’s quiz - Feats!

The feat breakdown on the Ftr7/Wiz12 is missing at least one feat: Scribe Scroll.
This assumes you don’t count the various weapon and armor proficiency feats that are pseudo-given with taking classes. (7 feats for Ftr profs! 3x armor, 2x weapon, 2x shield)
The correct answer is either 15 or 22. :)

Astounding! You passed! Do you even roleplay or you just fight monsters in your game?
We’re not counting class features, just the feats and bonus feats that one gets to choose…
95%, before the random modifier. I missed the Wizard bonus feats.
I’m somewhat disappointed that I only got 95. I never play Wizards, though.
EDIT: Oh, and the Empower Spell question is only kinda right. It actually enhances the variable numeric effects of a spell by 50%. This is different than your answer in two ways.
- If something, like Inflict Moderate, deals 2d8 +1 pre CL, only the 2d8 is empowered. Similarly, the Harm spell (10 per CL) has no effect when empowered, as 10 per CL isn’t a variable numeric effect (ie. doesn’t include a die roll)
- If you have a spell that lasts for 2d4 rounds, that 2d4 rounds is increased by 50%, despite not being damage, because it’s a variable numeric effect.
I keep getting huge negative psychological profiling scores … are they really totally random? Or based of something of other? Because I’m getting kind of tired of getting 2/3s of the answers right, but a final score in the 10s - 20s =S
@Chris:
Well, they’re random. It’ll swing your way someday.
@Jeff & Graham:
Gawd I hate being wrong. But you guys are right.
Looking up the answers as I went along on the quiz I realized that last night’s session had a major flaw in the combat… Oops. But, you learn something every day.
My players will hate I realized my mistake.
Thanks Yax,
Peaceful

I also missed the Wizard bonus feats (I don’t play them).
;) Also, shouldn’t Jeff and Graham get the “Maybe it’s time to get a life?” line, they did point out what was wrong with two of the questions after all. ;)
@Kili: Extremely good point.

I got everything easily until the Item Creation Feats. Stupid rods, wondrous items, and magic arms & armor!
Hmm… I need a life. Not news to me. And damn, I forgot the wizard feats in the first question

Heh, I missed less of the item creation feats than I thought.
@andrew: Not all the answers are worth the same amount of points, even when all the answers are good.
heheheh, loved the Order of the stick question :-D anyone knows if that combo really works? i mean, as a DM i can think of a thousand ways to deal with a player using it, but still i mean rules-wise.

Beating that combo is very easy. Sunder the chain. You win. You were looking for something more?
How about Earth to Mud, then Mud to Rock, then Rock to Lava.

And I noticed the off-by-one answer for the first question, too. Wow, do I need to get another hobby or what? That is, in addition to this one.

It seems I missed craft rod by 1 level, I put 8 instead og 9. Don’t ask me why.
I feel like I’m beyond geeky.
Wow! And here I was afraid my nerdness was getting rusty.
