D&D Sunday Morning Quiz – Rituals

DNDSMQ September 21, 2008 : D&D Sunday Morning Quiz – Rituals

Rituals are a fun addition to D&D. I especially like them because any class can cast them by taking the Ritual Caster feat. And since it’s been a few months since the release of 4th edition you should now be familiar with this new element of the game. Good luck on the quiz!

All answers from the D&D 4th edition Player’s Handbook

NOTE: Some email clients and RSS readers can’t submit your answers to our website. You can go to Dungeon Mastering to take the quiz.

Meet Expy The Red Dragon

Expy is the mascot for DungeonMastering.com and the real mastermind behind Expy Games. He likes to hoard treasure, terrorize neighbors, burn down villages, and tell white dragon jokes..

No matter how fearful the legends claim dragons are, they always end up being defeated in 5 rounds by adventuring parties they encounter. That’s what dragons are – experience points for the heroes in your Dungeons & Dragon party. And this mascot is no different, hence the name Expy.

Impressive! Do you have a ritual book at home?

My wife says that the raise dead ritual shouldn’t be “just in case.” It should be “to wake up the spouse.”

  2. Mike Kenyon says:

A.I. Score? What is this? I didn’t *think* I was bound by Azimov…

  3. Yax says:

The A.I. of the website awards bonuses or negative modifiers depending on how it feels and how much it likes you or not. Don’t take it personally: it’s often in a bad mood.

  4. Mike Kenyon says:

Oh ho! Here I was thinking I was secretly a robot! Now I don’t know if I’m disappointed or not :P

  6. Labareda says:

I cast ” answer quiz” before answering this but i think something went wrongas i only got 83% :-(
perhaps i should cast “raise dead” on my ritual book.

You passed! Not bad… If you have low expectations.

Meh who needs rituals anyways >.>

  8. Frederik Hertzum says:

A bit old, but still. I was really dissappointed today when I looked over some of the rituals and discovered that the Traveler’s Feast ritual has a component cost of 35g, meaning that it costs 6g per person it feeds per day — just eating trail rations costs 5s per person per day. Makes the ritual almost useless.
