Unfortunately because of it's very magical nature they had a lot of amges rising to power to try and overthrow the government. After about the 123rd failed attempt to raise the Realm Guards to the ground. The guards had had enough and decided to destroy the magical link. It had worked, no more trouble rose agaisnt them. What they did not realize was that without the magic the land started to die. So it was our job to enlist the powers of the dietys to re-establish the magic, those chose a group and two champins. One of law and the other of chaos(me). When the link was being formed i panicked because a giant swirling vortex was pulling me away( i rolled a 1) and due to my actions a rift tore apart the realm and and shot us 70 years in the past.
