Wizards of the Coast wants to give you 1000$

Get a grant to play Dungeons & Dragons

After waiting for a few days for a WotC support rep to get back to me I finally got the answer I was looking for - the Expand Your Role grant program is alive and well. Expand Your Role gives away $20,000 a year to D&D clubs! You have to be in college to apply for the grant. Yes, that means you can add one more item to your why-I-wish-I-were-still-in-college list.

Rich Wizards

Here’s how it works:

  • The grants are for D&D club affiliated with a college or university
  • Wizards will give you up to 1000 gp - er, dollars.
  • Dungeons & Dragons has to be the main focus of the club, but other RPGs are fine.

What you can use the cash to:

  • Launch a Web site
  • Advertise/promote their club locally
  • Rent, expand or accessorize a space for club gatherings
  • Send club members to gaming conventions
  • Provide food for club gatherings
  • Buy your own dragon mascot

So spread the word that Wizards of the Coast is willing to give us some of our money back. Let me know if you apply for the grant. Have fun with your D&D game and try not to attack co-workers with samourai swords.

Do you know if they’ll accept to pay me the 1000$ for all the years we hanged out in my basement. It was practicly a d&d club.
