1,000,000 pages

1,000,000 pages viewed on DungeonMastering.com

Every couple of months I put aside a couple hours to take a state-of-the-union look at Dungeon Mastering and other related projects.  I was really surprised – and pumped – to see that we just hit the 1 million pageviews plateau.  So for the occasion I decided to thank my top 5 people who helped me out, willingly or not.

#5 – Shelly Mazzanoble

The author of Confessions of a Part-time Sorceress: A Girl’s Guide to the D&D Game (Dungeons & Dragons) claims she didn’t do anything to help me out, but when I emailed her over a year ago she was kind enough to reply.  Little did she know that she was the first person from the RPG industry – I mean first one will a real job – to grace me with a few words.  It did wonders for my confidence.

#4 – The Chatty DM

Phil is so passionate about what he does – RPG or not.  I had the chance to meet him a few times in Montreal and at GenCon. He is a constant reminder that there is no substitute for enthusiasm. Needless to say everyone should read his blog! => Musings of the Chatty DM

#3 – Janna and Nicholas

I thought I was a good writer. Until I sought help with the website and Nicholas and Janna started writing for Dungeon Mastering.  My DM told me after they had written a few articles: “Hey, the new writers… They’re good!” The last part of the sentence was “Better than you!” but he is polite and never said it. :)

#2 – Ed Healy

Smart guy with plenty of projects and boundless energy.  He runs Kobold Quarterly and his latest project is Warpig Radio – an internet radio stream dedicated to RPG.  Unless I am mistaken it is the first of its kind.

#1 – Gary Gygax

Thanks, Gary!

And there’s a million more people to thank – you know who you are.

Thank you.  Now I won’t bug you until 10,000,000!

Meet Expy The Red Dragon

Expy is the mascot for DungeonMastering.com and the real mastermind behind Expy Games. He likes to hoard treasure, terrorize neighbors, burn down villages, and tell white dragon jokes..

No matter how fearful the legends claim dragons are, they always end up being defeated in 5 rounds by adventuring parties they encounter. That’s what dragons are – experience points for the heroes in your Dungeons & Dragon party. And this mascot is no different, hence the name Expy.

I’m happy to share any list with Gary Gygax, even if it was just a list of all people to ever roll a d20.

    Here’s to 1,000,000 more!

Absolutely awesome! A thousand congratulations Yax!

I have to agree, I’ve definitely enjoyed Janna and Nicholas’ writing since they joined you.

  3. Janna says:

Thanks so much! I was a fan of DungeonMastering before I became a writer here, and I’m thrilled to be part of such a great team. And yeah, sharing a list with the Big G is pretty awesome, too. :)

Im just stoked to be on a reply to a list with the late and great Big G.

Nice work folks, of course getting eaten by an angry red dragon would inspire your best works, well done!
