I do play this version, I have played every version since the box set in the seventies, and this version gets a big thumbs up from this reviewer! I pre-ordered in January from Amazon.com. I’m almost 50 years old and spending $100 a month or less for a hobby I enjoy is fine. Much cheaper than WH40K or any minis games. I do remember being young and poor so I do sympathize with the previous posters.

Amen, brother. Young and poor, bad. 4E, good.

I remember when the original box set came out with a faux woodgrain cover. I wanted to purchase it so badly but I was only ten-years-old and didn’t have the $10 at the time. By the time I had earned enough to buy it, the woodgrain box version was gone and I ended up getting the White Box Set. This all happened in 1974 but I can remember it as clear as if it were last week!

For the record, I mostly play 3.5 but I have to admit that I enjoy 4th Edition as well.
