Thanks, Gary
Written by Yax - Published on March 8, 2008

I was surprised by the number of friends who e-mailed me this week. It all had to do with the sad news that Gary Gygax passed away. Some of the people who e-mailed me hadn’t been in touch with me in a while, or didn’t even know I run a D&D website!

But RPGs influenced our lives so drastically that this was more than just news or gossip. It was hundreds of thousands of people suddenly realizing how lucky they were that role-playing games were available for their enjoyment, their social and intellectual growth.

So it is with joy and grief that I say, “Thanks, Gary.”

Some webcomics and blog folk were very distasteful about their tribute to him, this was very nice.

    Rest in peace, Gary

From the nerdy 10 year old inside, to the 34 year old outside, ty Gary

Gary, with or without friends and collaborators, did one helluva lot for my life, and I know a lot of great and creative people including a lot of supremely talented authors who would be at least poorer, if not waiting tables or driving cabs, without his contribution. All the very best to him wherever he went - I would like to see him reincarnated as a dragon! (Any colour!)
