World domination… Check!
Written by Yax - Published on July 11, 2008

The challenge

It feels like eons ago - I had almost forgotten, actually - that Chatty DM challenged me. The friendly challenge was to receive an Ennies nomination. Well, I am happy to announce that…

Dungeon Mastering has been nominated for Best Fan Product.

Thank you, Chatty for getting me to send the paperwork. I wouldn’t have been nominated without you.

Exploding computers and nice surprises

Crazy week. My work laptop exploded. Let’s just say I had a lot of data that I would like to retrieve. I haven’t given up hope yet.

Things got a little better when I stole borrowed my colleague’s laptop 2 days ago. I was happy to see less than 1,000 emails in my inbox (I was already 100 emails late when my computer exploded!)

So things were getting better and then I read Gnome Stew’s weekly link rodeo and I see that Dungeon Mastering was nominated for an Enny! Nice!

In other news

I sat down at the beach a few days ago with the firm resolve to read every single word in the PHB.

I got sunburnt.

But I will be sharing some ideas about 4th edition campaigns very soon. One hint - don’t wait on the WOTC online tools!

More thanks

Thanks
to all the readers, commentors, contributors, trivia editors, website owners, and red dragons who have helped Dungeon Mastering grow. I am really, really grateful.

I agree. You shouldn’t wait on WotC.

Congrats on the Ennie nomination! You may wish to have a kobold start your car, the Chatty one may not take his loss with such good graces…

Don’t worry Asmor, I’m done sulking.

Congrats Yax, it was a nice friendly competition and I’m happy that at least one of us made it! I won’t attend as I will be slaying Drow PCs but I’m sure you’ll have the time of your life with babes and champagne!

Gratz on the Enny nomination. I’m not waiting on the online tools …I’m upset that they are making us pay for them anyway.
My 1st 4e campaign will be starting in a two weeks, just finished my world building Fallcrest from the DMG will e our starting area in the realms of Kynshard. I’ll be running two groups my kids and a set of adults.

Running 2 groups with the same campaign/adventure is fun. You get to see 2 completely different ways to beat the encounters, 2 sets of tactics, ideas, etc. I enjoyed it the one time I did it.
