I had a few things on my mind today:
- The fact that my car needed repair… Again.
- The Monday deadline at work.
- The amazing awesomeness of red dragons.
- And the upcoming trip to GenCon.
GenCon trivia
Well, I stumbled upon an interesting document which gives us an insight on the people who go there:
The GenCon attendee demographics (pdf) document tells me that the GenCon crowd is composed almost entirely of males between 18-44 earning a decent yearly income. That’s the right crowd to cater to if you ask me.
Gnomish wisdom
Walt Ciechanowski from Gnome Stew shares his GenCon 2007 experience. It was his first convention. All first time GenCon goers should read his tale to make sure that losing their GenCon virginity is a pleasant experience.
What’s going on? I have no clue.
I still have no idea if I’m planning games with some readers at GenCon. I’d like to meet as many of you as possible so don’t hesitate to email me with non-con game (or party) suggestions if you’re going to be in Indy.

Ahh…GenCon. It has been on my mind as well. I have been working on my shopping list of things I want to buy when I hit the floor. Right now the new version of Traveler, from Mongoose Games, and a hard copy of Corporation RPG are at the top of my list. But no trip to GenCon would be complete without some Dice from Chessex.
I am also loading up my GenCon bank account with more cash to account for the rise in gas costs…ugh.
I haven’t splurged on dice in eons! You know you’re a geek when you get excited about acquiring new dice. I definitely am a geek.
i gotta say yax, im jealous. i can only dream of going to GenCon…things here in PA just arent that accomidating for me. *le sigh*
i heard though, stay away from stormtroopers. those guys really get into character and lets just say the empire strikes back!!
I wonder how much LARPing goes on…
This will be my first GenCon, and me and my buddy(s) are looking forward to some fun, and maybe some new dice for all!
