WTF: Random reincarnator

WTF : Weird Tools Files # 5

The geniuses at Slack & Hash have outdone themselves once again. The random reincarnation generator is very dear to me because it was kind of a request that stemmed from a discussion on how to kill all your PCs – right here on DMing. Only kill them all if you really have to, of course.

Is it useful?

I cannot stress enough how useless this tool is for your weekly D&D game. However it should keep you entertained for a while.

    I object! The reincarnator can actually be used in a D&D game. Provided you ignore the more frivolous details, that is.

    Improvements to that device are in store. As soon as I can get a decent list of partial memories sorted out… :)

    This was actually a very popular activity for my mom’s gaming group. Whenever she game mastered the characters were given a “ring of reincarnation” that, when the character died, automatically reincarnate the characters into whatever came up on the random encounter table in the 1st ed dmg for the terrain/area they were in at the time. The rest of the party could tell it was them because the reincarnated character would still be wearing the ring…
    “Ok, so my halfling sneaks into the cave to get a look at the dragon and see if it is wearing any jewelry; It might be the fighter…”
