		<description>Great series of posts. I&#039;ve bookmarked this and recommended it to a slightly &quot;railroady&quot; DM I know. And this will totally help me DM better in the future.

Two things I might add. I&#039;ve found that saying &quot;No, but...&quot; is sometimes better than saying &quot;Yes, and...&quot; if the players want something that just doesn&#039;t make sense. For example, if they ask if there is a Wizard&#039;s guild in the middle of a tiny border town. &quot;No, but...&quot; there&#039;s an old church with a pile of dusty books, maybe they could look there?

And negotiation scenes can be interesting, I&#039;ve seen it happen. I think this is one of those points where something from the stage doesn&#039;t really translate into something for the game. There are lots of things that are boring to watch but interesting to do.</description>
